Get ready for a fun day celebrating spring in the most"Canadian"way at my annual Maple Syrup Festival!
Saturday April 12th
10a.m.to 3p.m.
at Richmond Green Sports Complex
Traditional Anishinaabe Grandmother & Ancestral Knowledge Keeper Kim Wheatley will welcome us and open the festival in a good way and over 50 community service organizations are looking forward to welcoming Richmond Hill residents to explain how they impact and interact with our community.
This year I am excited about the outdoor programming including opportunities to learn about how this sweet Canadian treat is produced with a live Syrup Making Demonstration, tree tapping demonstrations, taste testing and tasty maple treats, while supplies last! Come see Richmond Green Park from a new perspective on a horse drawn wagon ride from12-3p.m.
Back inside, we have a free Pancake Breakfast with real maple syrup waiting for you. Enjoy the live show with Tim Burr the Circus Lumberjack and gain a new appreciation for the ‘treemendous’forests that make it all possible with Professor Pricklethorn.
The Richmond Hill Water Truck will be onsite so please support our Single Use Plastic Waste Reduction program and bring your own reusable water bottle to enjoy unlimited refills.
There will be fun activities for all ages including pancake flipping contests, family friendly activities, draws…. and did I mention maple syrup?

We are excited to add another live show to the Maple Syrup Festival this year. Welcome to Tim Burr, the Circus Lumberjack. Tim will bring his show to the Main Stage at 11:30 a.m. It sounds'tree-rific"!!!
Admission to my Maple Syrup Festival is always free, thanks to our generous Sponsors, but I am suggesting a contribution to the Richmond Hill Community Food Bank. These are hard times so I am inviting you to join in the challenge to "Fill the Van" with day of donations. You can visit the Richmond Hill Community Food Bank websiteto see what items are most needed at this time. There will be staff onsite to accept financial donations as well.
